Athletic Training - Coordinator of Clinical Education and Faculty Position

Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell, South Dakota invites applications for the position of Coordinator of Clinical Education (CCE) in the CAATE accredited Master of Athletic Training program. This is a 12-month, tenure-track, full-time faculty position with comprehensive benefits. This person will be responsible for managing and organizing comprehensive clinical education assignments for students within the Athletic Training major and the instruction and coordination of program preceptors. This person will also instruct courses in the athletic training major and assist the Athletic Training Program Chair in coordination, supervision, and evaluation of all aspects of the program. Other duties include academic advising, professional mentoring, and participating on university committees. Preferred start date is early-to-mid June 2024. Rank and salary will be commensurate with the candidate’s qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a doctoral degree or be willing to complete one within 2 years. Clinical doctorates (DAT, DPT, etc.) will be accepted.
  • Have at least one year of BOC certification in good standing and previous clinical practice experience in athletic training.
  • Have an NPI number with appropriate health care field designation.
  • Possess a current South Dakota Athletic Training license or be eligible to receive one.
  • Show evidence of scholarship and/or continuing education.
  • Have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, faculty, and healthcare professionals.
  • Be comfortable with and willing to learn the use of digital technologies to enhance student engagement and learning.
