July 27, 2010 Hart to compete at South Dakota All-Star Games MITCHELL, S.D. – Incoming Dakota Wesleyan University freshman Amanda Hart will have one more chance to compete at the high school level before playing for the Tiger women’s basketball team this season. Hart, a former standout at nearby Hanson High School in Alexandria, S.D., will play in the girls’ basketball all-star game Tuesday night at 8 p.m. at the Barnett Center on the Northern State University campus in Aberdeen, S.D. She will be joined by the top senior girls’ basketball players from around the state to compete on the North and South teams. More than 200 athletes from around the state will be coached by 30 of the top high school coaches in volleyball, boys’ basketball, girls’ basketball, football, wrestling, golf and cheer at the 24th annual All-Star Games, which started Tuesday and run through Thursday in Aberdeen. Hart, who signed with the Tigers earlier this year, finished her high school basketball career with 1,351 points for the Beavers. She was a Miss Basketball finalist her senior year and a member of the all-state first team. She earned all-conference honors all four years of high school and helped lead Hanson to an 80-15 record during her tenure. |
