DWU's medical insurance is provided by DAKOTACARE, the health maintenance organization of the South Dakota Medical Association.

• Coverage begins the first day of the month following date of employment
• $1000 annual individual deductible
• $2000 annual family deductible
• Maximum out-of-pocket: individual $2500; family $5000
• Member-provider network
• Preauthorization of hospitalization and mental health care is required

Employees should present their DAKOTACARE wallet cards to their physician's offices and pharmacies at each visit.
