How to access your MyWeb space and install files
MyWeb accounts are available for
all students and employees. These accounts are setup by default when
the students and employee network accounts are created. MyWeb folder
limitations are as follows: Students, Staff and Faculty have a limit
of 150Meg.

Drive Access
Browse to the
Student S: drive through “My Computer”
open up the folder labeled “MyWeb” and find the folder with your
username. Once in this folder you may copy to, edit and delete
files and folders just like any other windows folder.

The site should
open in a new window listing all the folders. Note: You
may get a message from your antivirus or firewall about
connecting to the site. Allow it.

From the file
menu click Login As...

Login using: <DWUusername>@dwu.edu
Your password is: <DWUpassword>

Click Log On

When your MyWeb
space opens, you may drag files into it from your desktop or any
other storage location open on your desktop (e.g., disk drive). You
may also drag files out of MyWeb to remove them.

Enter the
following into your browser Address field:
ftp://userid@myweb.dwu.edu (NOTE: do not enter “http://”.)
“userid” is your
DWU username (fnlname), not your campus ID#.

You will be
prompted for a username and password.

Your login ID
is: <DWUusername>@dwu.edu
Your password is: <DWUpassword>

Web
To access the
file via a web browser, use the URL http://myweb.dwu.edu/userid/filename/.
MyWeb
Organization
You may organize
your files in folders in MyWeb. Create the folder on your desktop
and drag it into MyWeb. The URL for a file located in a folder
would be http://myweb.dwu.edu/userid/foldername/filename/. The
filename must include the extension (e.g., “.doc”, “.html”,
“.ppt”).
Your home page
file should have the filename “index.htm” or “index.html”. A web
browser automatically assumes that a file with this name is a home
page.
