Scotchman and Miss Wesleyan candidates named at DWU

MITCHELL, S.D. – Twelve Dakota Wesleyan University students have been selected by their classmates as candidates for Scotchman and Miss Wesleyan, the highest honor given to students in their senior year at the institution.

Candidates for the 80th Miss Wesleyan are Heather Bohlander, Cavour; Renee Butler, Elko, Nev.; Whitney Gard, Canton; Laura Guericke, White Lake; Heidi Lusk, Vienna; and Sarah Mortenson, Selby.

Candidates for the 71st Scotchman are Heath Eggleston, Howard, Colo.; David Hoffman, Mitchell; Jason Lanning, Mitchell; Kyle Meier, Kennebec; Alan Swartz, Baltic; and Isaac VanDyke, Chester, Mont.

A committee comprised of students, staff, administrators and faculty will select a Scotchman and Miss Wesleyan. Candidates for Scotchman and Miss Wesleyan are judged on academics, character and overall contribution to the university. The Scotchman and Miss Wesleyan Banquet will be at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, April 18, in the Sherman Center.
