DWU Future Teachers host Dr. Seuss
Carnival
MITCHELL
– The Dakota Wesleyan University Future Teachers Organization will
host the 12th annual Dr. Seuss Carnival from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday,
April 10, in the Christen Family Recreation/Wellness Center.
Children from preschool through fifth grade are welcome to participate
in this fun event. There will be cupcakes available to all the readers.
Children can read or listen to books to earn tickets which allow them
to play games and win prizes, and each child who participates in the festivities
will receive a free book. Adults must accompany their children to the
carnival.
“The Dr. Seuss Carnival is a ton of fun and our way of reaching
out and giving back to the community. The kids are a blast and it’s
a blast watching them realize that reading can be fun,” said Mallory
Gould, DWU junior from Sioux Falls.
The event is funded by a grant from the National Education Association,
and is free and open to the public.
