DWU choir concert set for Monday

MITCHELL — The Dakota Wesleyan choir and the Highlanders will perform a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, in the Sherman Center.

The choirs are directed by Angella Buenzow, who will make her DWU debut as interim choir director. Kristin Lund Lefferts will accompany.

The music selection includes “Agnus Dei,” with a solo by Tanner LaValliere of Sioux Falls; “Waltzing Matilda”; “Bogoroditse Devo, Raduisya”; “What About Love,” with a solo by Brooke Warne of Rapid City; and “Worthy to be Praised” with solos by Trisha Schleich, Mitchell, and Jordan Packard, Osawatomie, Kan.

There will also be performances by DWU vocal students Jenna Callies, Mitchell, and Kelsey Miller, Belle Fourche.

The Highlanders will wrap up the evening with “Java Jive.” This doo-wop group consists of Miller, senior; juniors LaValliere and Michael Lynch, of Omaha; and freshmen Callies and Allison Clarke, of Howard.
