Auditions set for two spring theatre productions

MITCHELL — The DWU Theatre department will hold auditions for the spring semester productions of “The Glass Menagerie,” by Tennessee Williams, and the student directed productions of “Laundry & Bourbon” and “Lone Star,” by James McClure, on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 11 and 12, at 7 p.m. in the Patten-Wing Theatre in Hughes Science Hall at DWU.

“The Glass Menagerie” will be presented at the Pepsi-Cola Theatre for Performing Arts in Mitchell in March, and the James McClure plays will be presented at Dakota Wesleyan University in the Patten-Wing Theatre in April.

“The Glass Menagerie” cast requires two men and two women. “Laundry & Bourbon” calls for three women, and “Lone Star” needs three men. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script, a look at individual imagination and some movement on the stage.

Auditions are open to all full and part-time DWU students, and members of the Mitchell community are encouraged to participate. Those unable to attend the scheduled auditions may contact the DWU theatre department to set up an alternate audition time by calling 995-2710.
