RECOGNIZING STUDENT EXCELLENCE
IN ACADEMICS,
LEADERSHIP, AND COMMUNITY SERVICE
Dakota Wesleyan University cordially invites exemplary
high school seniors to attend the 2008 SCHOLARSHIP DAY COMPETITION.
This once-a-year event recognizes the outstanding academic, extracurricular,
leadership and community service students have made to their school
and community.
Scholarship Day participants
must be 2008 high school
graduates and meet the following academic criteria:
Randall Scholarship: 26 ACT/1170
SAT and 3.75 GPA
Trustee Scholarship: 21 ACT/980 SAT and 3.5 GPA
|
Scholarship Day is designed with accepted students in mind. Whether
students are visiting for the first or the fourth time, the experience
promises to be a memorable one. The day offers plenty of opportunities
for future students to focus on their own educational aspirations. Students
and their parents will have an opportunity to visit with senior faculty
members in all the departments, attend mock classes, and meet with staff
members from financial aid, residence halls, student activities board
and more.
In addition, an activities fair, panel discussions, a chapel service
(optional), campus tours, meetings with coaches and extracurricular
activity directors, and other informational sessions are on the schedule.
Senior administration and faculty members will conduct student interviews
and will help determine the scholarship award amounts. Scholarship Day
competitors are honored at a special scholar luncheon at noon. We welcome
and encourage parents to attend the Scholarship Day Competition.
