Melissa "Missy" Herr-Valburg
Director of Admissions

Missy, a Dakota Wesleyan University graduate, serves as the director of admissions. She has worked in admissions since 1994 and has her master’s degree in counseling from South Dakota State University.

Missy grew up in Bismarck, N.D., and now lives south of Draper, S.D., on a ranch with her family. She likes to spend her time gardening, playing with her daughters and driving down I-90.

Missy has the opportunity to lead the admissions efforts, both undergraduate and graduate, and work with traditional aged students from central South Dakota, the Huron nursing program and LPN-RN program in Sioux Falls.

Missy came to Dakota Wesleyan years ago looking for the opportunity to grow academically and spiritually. She stayed because the university gave her so much more. She truly enjoys and cherishes the opportunity to work with students and their families.
