fall of 1960, after transferring from Slippery Rock College in Slippery
Rock, Pa. He was a high school graduate of North Allegeny High School in
Pittsburgh, Pa. He participated in three sports but was primarily recognized
for his many skills on the football field.
During his football career he played six different
positions. His leadership ability was apparent as he led the Tiger
football team at quarterback and was twice selected team captain.
He was twice selected an SDIC all-conference performer and in 1962
was named NAIA Honorable Mention All-American.

also prevalent on the track; he was a member of four DWU conference
championship relay teams. His 1960 championship 800-meter relay team

basketball team and by the time he completed his senior year he had
scored 1,429 points, 15th best in school history. He was a two-time
all-conference first team selection and a second team selection on
another occasion. During his tenure as a basketball standout, Morgan
helped guide the Tigers to a SDIC championship in 1990 with a 10-0

team finished the conference schedule undefeated, and the first since
1979. Morgan has continued his ties to Dakota Wesleyan University
as the assistant coach for the women’s basketball team for
the past 12 years.
