Each year Dakota Wesleyan University honors individuals with special awards to honor alumni who have demonstrated their commitment to “Sacrifice or Service” through personal achievement and contributions to society and DWU.

In 2009, the university organized into three colleges and aligned the alumni awards to reflect the change.  Three prestigious awards are given each fall to alumni who represent the colleges through their college major, their professional life, or their volunteer and philanthropic activities.
