Index of Sports Press Releases Dec. 1, 2006 Dvoracek Signs With DWU Women’s Basketball
MITCHELL, S.D.— Dakota Wesleyan University head women’s basketball coach Ann Konechne has announced that Bon Homme High School senior McKenzie Dvoracek has signed a letter of intent to attend DWU to play women’s basketball for the 2007-08 athletic season. Dvoracek, a Springfield, S.D., native, is a three-year starter in basketball at Bon Homme H.S. She averaged 14 points and seven rebounds per game. She also averaged five assists, two steals and shot 85 percent from the free throw line. “We are very excited to have McKenzie join the DWU women’s basketball program next season,” Konechne said. “She will help fill the spots of our graduating seniors and provide us with steady floor balance.” The 5-foot-10 inch senior forward has earned All-Conference honors during her sophomore and junior seasons. “She is a strong power forward who has tremendous ability to play both an inside and outside game,” Konechne said. Dvoracek has been a member of the honor roll throughout her high school career. She is the daughter of Gary and Michelle Dvoracek from Springfield. Dvoracek joins Centerville High School senior Briana Austin as two early signings for the Tiger women’s basketball program. The Tiger women will take on Briar Cliff University this Saturday (Dec. 2) at 2 p.m. in Sioux City, Iowa. |
