Index of Sports Press Releases Dec. 13, 2006 Viking Women Cruise to 85-41 Victory Sioux Falls, S.D. — The Dakota Wesleyan women hit just three field goals in the first 10 minutes of the game as NCAA Division II Augustana College rolled to a 85-41 victory over the Tigers on Wednesday (Dec. 13) at the Elmen Center in Sioux Falls, S.D. The Tigers drop to 2-10 on the season and have now lost 10 games in a row. The Vikings improved to 11-2 on the season. DWU struggled from the field shooting just 26.3 percent in the game. The Tigers improved their shooting in the second half after going only 5-25 in the first half. DWU also had 28 turnovers in against the tough Viking pressure defense. Dakota Wesleyan was held without a point for the final six minutes of each half. Junior center Adria Pazour recorded a double-double to lead the Tigers. She had 11 points and 10 rebounds, including four offensive boards. She also added three steals. Kelly Haiar was the other Tiger player to reach double figures with 11 points. Augustana converted 10-27 from 3-point range led by Alison Adamson who was 5-7 from beyond the arc. She joined Amy Puthoff to lead the Vikings with 21 points apiece. Ashley Holiday added 17 points. DWU will be back in action at the Corn Palace on Saturday when they host another NCC foe in University of Minnesota, Mankato. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m. |
