Seim Leads Tigers to 89-72 Win

Mitchell, S.D. — Brock Seim scored 32 points and grabbed nine rebounds to lead Dakota Wesleyan to a 89-72 victory over Dakota State University in NAIA men’s basketball action on Saturday afternoon (Dec. 16) at the Corn Palace.

The Tigers improve to 11-2 overall on the season while the Trojans fall to 1-10.

Seim shot 7-16 from the field and made 15 of his 19 attempts from the free throw line. He also added four steals and two assists.

DWU shot 42.4 percent from the field and hit nine 3-pointers, but shot just 68.2 percent from the free throw line converting 30-44 attempts.

There was a total of 49 fouls called in the game.

Kevin Talley added 18 points for the Tigers to join Seim as the only two players to reach double figures.

Three players scored in double figures for the Trojans led by Bryce Kreutzfeldt who had 22 points. Joe Backus added 19 points, while Derek Powell had a solid night with 11 points, nine rebounds and six assist.

DWU will now be off for the Christmas break and return to action on Dec. 29-30 when they host the DWU TeamMakers Holiday Classic.
