Tigers Blow Out Trojans 88-57

Mitchell, S.D. — 14th-ranked Dakota Wesleyan blew out Dakota State 88-57 in the second game of the 2006 DWU TeamMakers Holiday Classic at the Corn Palace in Mitchell. Sioux Falls narrowly defeated Peru State 54-52 in the first game of the night.

Tournament MVP Brock Seim scored a game-high 17 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Tigers. DWU jumped out to a comfortable 50-28 halftime lead and cruised to the 29 point victory.

The Tigers shot 52 percent from the field in the first half as the Trojans shot only 37 percent from the floor.

The Trojans (1-12) committed 18 turnovers compared to the Tigers 10.

Preston Broughton and Jesse Block also scored in double figures for the Tigers. Keaton Cummings came off the bench to score nine points and grab eight boards.

Also named to the TeamMakers Holiday Classic All-Tournament team were Broughton, Joe Backus from Dakota State, Joe Mews from Peru State and Dylan Kvaale from Sioux Falls.
