Nov. 5, 2006 Cross Country Season Ends at Region III Meet Sioux Falls, S.D.— Both the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s and women’s cross country teams had their seasons come to an end on Saturday (Nov. 4) at the NAIA Region III Cross Country Championships at Prairie Green Golf Course in Sioux Falls, S.D. The DWU men finished 9th out of 17 teams competing, while the DWU women had just four runners in the race. Black Hills State University won the team race for both the men and the women. For the Tiger men, Thomas Madut was the top finisher, placing 35th overall. He finished with a time of 26:32.32. Tyrone White ran a time of 26:52.28 to finish 49th overall. Brandon Hislop was the third Tiger finisher placing 61st overall. Luka Thor from Concordia University won the individual race with a time of 25:56.50. Katie Weavill placed 30th out of 128 runners in the women’s 5K race. The senior ended her career with a time of 19:31.61. Amy McIntyre, Ashley Haushild and Heidi Birkley were the other Tiger runners. Genevieve Binsfield from Minot State University won the individual region race for the fourth straight season. |
