Index of Sports Press Releases Nov. 9, 2006 Maag Named Academic All-District
Maag, a Tripp, S.D., native, has a 3.70 GPA as a biology major. He has 46 total tackles this fall (21 solo) with 9.5 tackles-for-loss, 4.0 quarterback sacks, and one pass breakup. He is one of only four NAIA players on the first and second teams in the college division of district seven. Maag earned First-Team Academic All-District VII honors as a sophomore in 2005. Student-athletes must meet four criteria to earn Academic All-District honors: 1) must have a cumulative GPA of 3.20 or better, 2) must have at least two terms of attendance at the institution, 3) must be at least a sophomore in athletic eligibility, 4) must be a starter or key reserve in their respective sport. The All-District selection is determined by voting of the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). District VII is comprised of NCAA Division II and Division III and NAIA institutions from the states of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota and Wyoming and the Canadian provinces of Alberta and Saskatchewan. This is the third year that ESPN The Magazine has been the title sponsor for the national CoSIDA Academic All-America program. |
