Index of Sports Press Releases Nov. 12, 2006 Tiger Women Go 0-2 in North Dakota Jamestown, N.D.— The Dakota Wesleyan women’s basketball team lost a hard fought 64-63 game to Jamestown College on Saturday afternoon (Nov. 11) in Jamestown, N.D. The Tigers went 0-2 on the weekend losing, 94-69, to Valley City State University on Friday night in Valley City, N.D. DWU is now 2-2 on the season. On Saturday, the Tigers trailed by one with under a minute to play and had the ball with 30 seconds to go. DWU failed to get a shot off as they turned the ball over on its possession. However, Jamestown missed both free throws with two seconds left, but the Tigers half court shot attempt failed and the game was over. Kara Overweg led the Tigers with 14 points going 10-14 at the free throw line. Adria Pazour and Jennifer Pommer both chipped in 12 points. Pommer hit four 3-pointers. Kristen Klawon led Jamestown with 16 points. The Jimmies outrebounded DWU 32-17. On Friday, Valley City exploded for 60 points in the second half to break open the game that was only 34-29 at halftime. The two teams combined for 77 free throw attempts. VCSU was 35-38 from the line, while the Tigers were 25-39. Kelly Haiar led DWU with 19 points and six rebounds. Pommer added 15 points with four 3-pointers. Whitney Gard came off the bench to score 12 points. Loni Hall led VCSU with 18 points. Dakota Wesleyan will be back at home on Wednesday (Nov. 15) to host NCAA Division II Northern State University. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Corn Palace.
