Oct. 21, 2006 GPAC Leading Warriors Down Tigers Mitchell, S.D.— The top team in the Great Plains Athletic Conference women’s soccer standings, Midland Lutheran College, shutout Dakota Wesleyan University, 2-0, in GPAC action on Saturday afternoon (Oct. 21) at Cadwell Park in Mitchell, S.D. The Warriors (15-2, 10-2 GPAC) scored two goals in the first half then held on for the two goal victory. Dakota Wesleyan (2-14-1, 2-9-1 GPAC) has now lost seven straight games. Sandy Porter scored the first goal of the match for the Warriors with 17:49 remaining in the first half. Midland Lutheran came right back and added another goal with 14:51 to play as Hilary Hansen found the back of the net. DWU did manage to get off five shots on goal in the game, as they are finally returning to full strength on offense. DWU goalie Danielle Richardson returned from an injury and had 17 saves in the loss for the Tigers. The Tigers have one game remaining on the schedule when they host the University of Minnesota-Morris next Saturday (Oct. 28) at 3 p.m. at Cadwell Park. |
