Oct. 25, 2006 Four Tiger Golfers Earn All-GPAC
Sioux City, Iowa – Four Dakota Wesleyan University women’s golfers have been named to the 2006 Great Plains Athletic Conference Women’s Golf All-Conference team. Nora Quinters, Heather Snavely, Kelli Baseley, and Krystle Alexander all were named to the All-GPAC squad.
Dakota Wesleyan head coach Adam Anderson has been honored as the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Coach-of-the-Year. Quinters, a freshman from Valley Mills, Texas, placed third at the 2006 GPAC Championships. Quinters placed in the top five in five of seven events played, and was the NAIA medalist at the Nebraska Wesleyan Invitational. Snavely, a senior from Winner, S.D., placed sixth at the GPAC Championships. The 2005-06 NAIA All-American played in five events in the fall while battling sickness. She placed in the top five in four events and won the DWU Open to start the season. Baseley, a redshirt freshman from Sioux Falls, S.D., placed ninth at the GPAC Championships. Baseley was a two-time GPAC Player-of-the-Week this fall. She won two tournaments this fall and placed in the top five in four events. Alexander, a senior from Wabasha, Minn., placed in the top ten at two events this fall. She did not participate in the 2006 GPAC Championships. Alexander was a key member of the 2005-06 team that participated at the NAIA National Tournament. The Dakota Wesleyan women won their fifth straight GPAC Women’s Golf Championships this fall shooting a team total of 701 at River Wilds Golf Course in Blair, Nebraska on Oct. 12-13. The Tigers qualified for the NAIA Region III Championships which will be held next spring. |
