Two Wrestlers Place at Dragon Open

Moorhead, Minn. — Danny Hutcheson placed 4th at 157 lbs in the open white division and Malik Stewart finished 6th at 125 lbs in the open red division on Saturday at the Dragon Open at Minnesota State University Moorhead in Moorhead, Minn.

Hutcheson finished 3-2 on the day. He lost 6-3 in the semifinals but won his wrestleback match, 6-2. He then lost a close match for third place, 5-4. Stewart went 1-3 for the day losing in the fifth place match, 8-6.

Two other wrestlers posted wins for the Tigers. Jeff Holmes was 1-2 in the 125 open white division and Jacob Sathe was 1-2 in the 141 open white division.

20th-ranked Dakota Wesleyan will be back in action on December 6 when they host 11th-ranked Morningside College in a GPAC dual at 4:00 p.m. and 15th-ranked Jamestown College at 6:00 p.m. in the Christen Wellness Center. The next tournament for the Tigers is on December 8 when DWU travels to St. Cloud, Minn., to participate in the Husky Open.
