Duarte Places Fourth for Tigers

ST. CLOUD, MINN. — Tony Duarte was the lone wrestler to place for the Dakota Wesleyan wrestling team as they competed at the Husky Open on the campus of St. Cloud University in St. Cloud, Minn., on Saturday (Dec. 8).

Duarte, who is ranked seventh at 165 pounds in the newest NAIA rankings, finished 5-1 on the day to take fourth place at 165 pounds.

Other wrestlers who posted wins for the Tigers were Malik Stewart, 2-2 at 125 pounds; Jared Thomas, 1-2 at 149 pounds; Tanner LaValliere who finished at 1-2 at 165 pounds; Blake Hodne and Kyle Henderson who both finished at 1-2 at 174 pounds; and Todd Casselman who finished 1-2 at heavyweight,.

The Dakota Wesleyan Tigers will be back in action after the holiday break on January 5 when they travel to Dickinson, N.D., to participate in the Dickinson Open.
