Dec. 14, 2007 Mankato Rolls Past DWU 101-44 MANKATO, MINN. — The Minnesota State University Mankato women’s basketball team shot an astounding 64.4 percent from the floor as they rolled to a 101-44 victory over Dakota Wesleyan University in nonconference women’s basketball action on Thursday (Dec. 13) night in Mankato. MSU got off to a very quick offensive start, shooting 21-31 from the field for 67.7 percent for the first half and holding a 28-point lead halfway through the first half. The Mavericks held Dakota Wesleyan to just one field goal until the 9:30 mark, when senior center Adria Pazour made a jumper in the paint to cut the Maverick lead to 26 points. The Tigers would not get any closer to MSU for the remainder of the game. Mankato led by as many as 38 points in the first half and had a 50-14 lead at halftime. The Tigers struggled from the field, shooting 14-52 for 26.9 percent and 4-20 from 3-point range for 20.0 percent for the game. Allison Johnson led the Tigers with 12 points and was the only player in double figures for DWU. Angela Noteboom added eight points, and Ashley Johnson and Adria Pazour each finished with six points. For the Mavericks, Heather Johnson finished with 24 points, going 10-11 from the field and 3-3 from 3-point range. Jamie Kienitz had 12 points, and Nicole Christianson and Anna Voltmer each added 11 points. Dakota Wesleyan travels to Aberdeen, S.D., this Sunday to face Presentation College at 3 p.m. in nonconference play. |
