Dec. 17, 2007 DWU Men’s Basketball Team to Participate in Midwest Tournament MITCHELL, S.D. — The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s basketball team will travel to Chicago to participate in the St. Xavier University Midwest Tournament from Dec. 19-21. The Tigers will play Siena Heights University from Adrian, Mich., at 4 p.m. on Dec. 19. The Saints bring a 5-7 overall record and are led in scoring by Brian Champine, a 6-8 junior center, averaging 15.9 points per game and Curtis Stephens, a 6-0 sophomore guard, averaging 13.9 points per game. Also participating in the Midwest Tournament is the host team, St. Xavier University; Algoma University (Ontario); University of Saint Francis (Ind.); Mount Marty College (S.D.); St. Ambrose University (Iowa); and Calumet College of St. Joseph (Ind.). If the Tigers win on Dec. 19, they will play at 6 p.m. on Dec. 20. If they lose on Dec. 19, the Tigers will play at 2 p.m. on Dec. 20. The time of the Tigers’ game on Friday will be determined by the outcome of their earlier games. All three of the Tiger games at the tournament will be broadcast on KMIT radio. |
