Nov. 12, 2007 Jones Named GPAC Player-of-the-Week
Sioux City, Iowa — Dakota Wesleyan University running back Keith Jones was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week for his efforts in a 27-20 Tiger win over Dana College to close out the 2007 season last Saturday. Jones, a senior from Lindenwold, N.J., ran for a career-high 198 yards on 34 carries with two touchdowns in the win over the Vikings. His rushing yardage total of 198 yards was the highest rushing amount in an individual game by a DWU back since Oct. 31, 1998 when Anthony Cooley ran for 204 yards against Black Hills State. With the victory over Dana, Dakota Wesleyan won its third straight game in a season for the first time since the 1997 season, and the first time since in the history of the GPAC. DWU ended the season with a three game winning streak for the first time since 1994. Dakota Wesleyan ended the 2007 season with a 4-6 record. |
