Nov. 15, 2007 Men End Losing Streak with 89-48 Blowout Win Mitchell, S.D. — Four different players reached double figures in scoring as the Dakota Wesleyan men’s basketball team ended its two game losing streak with a 89-48 victory over Nebraska Christian College on Thursday (Nov. 15) at the Corn Palace in Mitchell, S.D. DWU improves to 3-2 overall while Nebraska Christian falls to 1-6. DWU struggled from the field shooting 44.9 percent from the field and only 9-36 (25.0) from 3-point range. DWU also committed 19 turnovers in the game. Preston Broughton led the Tigers with 16 points and seven rebounds. Marcus Vontz had 15 points and pulled down eight rebounds. Ike Muoneke scored 14 points to go along with his six rebounds. Brady Wiebe came off the bench to score 12 points and lead the Tigers with nine rebounds. The lone Parsons player to reach double figures with 14 points. Nebraska Christian shot only 33.3 percent from the field and only made 1-15 from 3-point range. DWU took advantage of 22 NCC turnovers and scored 29 points off the turnovers. Dakota Wesleyan will next be in action on Saturday (Nov. 17) when they travel to Aberdeen, S.D. to play Presentation College. |
