Nov. 18, 2007 Tigers Roll Past Presentation 89-44 Aberdeen, S.D. — For the second straight game, the Dakota Wesleyan men’s basketball team had a blowout victory as they rolled past Presentation College, 89-44, in a non-conference basketball game on Saturday night in Aberdeen, S.D. DWU improves to 4-2 overall and it was a season opener for Presentation. The Tigers jumped out to a 20-point halftime lead, 47-27 and then outscored the Saints 42-17 in the second half. Three players scored in double figures for DWU. Colby Fitzgerald broke out of his shooting slump by going 6-8 from the field and 4-5 from 3-point range to finish with 20 points. Preston Broughton added 16 points and seven rebounds. Brady Wiebe came off the bench to score 15 points and grab seven rebounds. The Tigers finished the game shooting 58.0 percent from the floor and 47.1 percent from 3-point range. DWU out rebounded Presentation 41-27. No players reached double figure scoring for Presentation. Richie Ward led the way with eight points. The DWU men will open GPAC play on Tuesday (Nov. 20) in Sioux Falls, S.D. when they face the University of Sioux Falls. USF is 2-3 on the season. Tip-off between the Tigers and Cougars is set for 8 p.m. at the Stewart Center. |
