Nov. 18, 2007 Goodwin and Stewart Qualify for Nationals Minneapolis, Minn. — Brandon Goodwin placed 2nd at 125 lbs and Malik Stewart finished 3rd in the same weight class as both wrestlers qualified for the NAIA National Tournament on Saturday at the Brute Adidas Auggie Open at Augsburg College in Minneapolis, Minn. Goodwin finished 3-1 losing 15-11 in the championship match of the 125 silver division while Stewart was 3-1 in the same bracket losing only to Goodwin in the semifinals. Jeff Holmes was 4-1 in the 125 silver division to place 5th. Andrew Leggott was 2-1 to finish 8th in the 125 gold division and Jacob Sathe went 1-2 at 141 to place 4th in the bronze division. Senior Tony Duarte, who is ranked 8th at 165 in the newest NAIA rankings, finished the day 3-1 at 165 in the gold division. Blake Hodne went 1-2 to place 4th in the 174 bronze division. Taylor Brock was 1-2 to take 7th in the 197 silver division and Payton Henderson went 2-1 to place 5th in the heavyweight silver division bracket. Dakota Wesleyan will be back in action on November 28 when they face Northern State University in a dual in Aberdeen, S.D. at 6:30 p.m. The next tournament for the Tigers is on December 1 when DWU travels to Moorhead, Minn., to participate in the Dragon Open.
