Nov. 26, 2007 DWU Defeats York 95-75 Mitchell, S.D. — Four players reached double figures in scoring as Dakota Wesleyan posted its third straight win with a 95-75 non-conference victory over York College on Monday night (Nov. 26) at the Corn Palace. DWU improves to 6-2 overall while York falls to 1-9. The Tigers jumped out to a 47-24 lead and led by as many as 30 points in the second half as they cruised to the win. Colby Fitzgerald led DWU with 23 points, hitting four 3-pointers. Fitzgerald went 8-14 from the floor and 4-9 from 3-point range. Preston Broughton recorded his second straight double-double scoring 19 points to go along with his 10 rebounds. Brady Wiebe and Scott Nelson both came off the bench to score 11 points. Wiebe was 5-7 from the floor and Nelson went 3-5 from 3-point range. The Tigers finished the game shooting 52.5 percent from the floor and out rebounded York 38-34. York was led by Dashon Jones who scored 19 points. Dakota Wesleyan returns to GPAC action on Wednesday (Nov. 28) when they host Dordt College at 8 p.m., at the Corn Palace. |
