Oct. 22, 2007 Women’s Soccer Drops Two 7-0 Matches Hastings, Neb. — The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s soccer team lost a pair of Great Plains Athletic Conference soccer matches, 7-0, over the weekend in Nebraska. DWU lost 7-0 on Saturday afternoon to Midland Lutheran College in Fremont, Neb., then dropped another 7-0 match to Hastings College on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 21) in Hastings, Neb. The Tigers fall to 1-16 overall and 0-11 in the GPAC. Dakota Wesleyan managed three shots on goal in both matches. Against Midland Lutheran on Saturday, the Warriors out shot DWU 31-3. Ashley Schultz had seven saves with Ellie Peterson recording two shots on goal and Ruth Pereira shooting once. Hilary Hansen and Amanda Grable each scored two goals with Sandy Porter, Hailee Stover and Susan Price adding one goal apiece. In the loss to Hastings, the Broncos had 27 shots. Allison Kotschwar and Chelsea Hoglund both had two goals while Jesse Herse, Zoe Cranmer and Marisol Campos all scored once. Schultz had 10 saves, and Chesary Falls, Victoria Garcia ad Ellie Peterson all had one shot on goal. Dakota Wesleyan will close out its season this Wednesday when the Tigers travel to Yankton, S.D., to take on Mount Marty College at 1 p.m. |
