Three DWU Basketball Players Named NAIA Scholar-Athletes

MITCHELL, S.D. – Three Dakota Wesleyan University basketball players have been named Daktronics NAIA Scholar-Athletes for the 2007-08 season.

Senior Nikki Tyhurst was the lone women’s basketball player earning the scholar-athlete honor. For the men, junior Preston Broughton and senior Marcus Vontz were named scholar-athletes.

To earn the scholar-athlete recognition, you must have a 3.5 cumulative GPA, be a junior or senior and a member of a collegiate athletic team, and have attended the school for one year.

Tyhurst is the only repeat recipient of the award after earning scholar-athlete recognition as a junior.
