Baker Named NAIA Region III Pitcher-of-the-Week

SIOUX CITY, IOWA – Dakota Wesleyan University senior Chris Baker was named the NAIA Region III Pitcher-of-the-Week for the week of April 14-20.

Baker was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/Great Plains Athletic Conference Baseball Pitcher-of-the-Week earlier this week.

Baker, a senior from Milwaukie, Ore., went 2-0 on the week as he picked up wins against Hastings College and Briar Cliff University. For the week, he struck out 16 with an ERA of 1.38. Baker allowed seven hits over 13 innings of work with five walks.

The Tigers are 17-19 overall and 10-10 in GPAC play. DWU will travel to Sioux Falls to take on the University of Sioux Falls on Thursday, April 24 in a GPAC doubleheader. The Tigers will finish out the regular season when they travel to Yankton to play Mount Marty College on Saturday, April 26.
