April 24, 2008 Women Golfers Finish Fourth at NAIA Region III Preview Meet SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — The Dakota Wesleyan University women’s golf team finished fourth at the University of Sioux Falls Spring Invite, which was also the NAIA Region III preview meet, on Tuesday (April 22) at Elmwood Golf Course. Northwestern College and Hastings College finished in a tie for first with team scores of 351. USF was third with a 357, and the Tigers were fourth with a 360. Kelli Baseley led DWU with an 84 and finished tied for third place. Heather Love shot a 91, Amber Raisanen had a 92, and Abby Wheeling and Cassidy Potter each had a 93. USF’s Brittany Hofer and Hastings’ Danielle Bernt tied for the individual medalist honors with an 82. The Tigers were scheduled to compete at the Briar Cliff Invite on Thursday, April 24 but the event was cancelled due to weather. DWU will host the Holly Rotert Memorial Golf Tournament on Saturday, April 26 at the Wild Oak Golf Club. The Wesleyan women will then gear up for the NAIA Region III Tournament on Monday and Tuesday, April 28-29 in Sioux Falls. |
