Feb. 14, 2008 Bridgewater Native Signs with DWU Women’s Basketball
MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan head women’s basketball coach Aaron Kahl has announced that Jessica Bartscher has signed a letter of intent to compete for the Tigers during the 2008-09 season. Bartscher, a senior at Emery High School, was a five-year starter for the Huskies. She is a four-time Cornbelt Conference selection and was voted the team’s Most Valuable Player her junior year. “We are excited that Jessica is going to be a part of our program,” Kahl said. “She has had an outstanding career at Bridgewater-Emery, and we think she will fit in well here at DWU.” Bartscher was also a five-year letterwinner in track and was a South Dakota State Track Meet participant in 2004 and 2006. She is a National Honor Society member. Bartscher is the daughter of Boyd and Sandra Bartscher from Bridgewater, S.D. She becomes the first player to sign with the Tigers in the 2008-09 recruiting class. The DWU women’s basketball team will be on the road this weekend when they travel to Sioux City, Iowa, to take on Briar Cliff University in a GPAC game. |
