Feb. 18, 2008 DWU Women’s Basketball Signs Olson
MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan head women’s basketball coach Aaron Kahl has announced that Marie Olson has signed a letter of intent to compete for the Tigers during the 2008-09 season. Olson, a senior at Baltic High School, is a four-time Big East All-Conference selection and four-time Tri-Valley All-Conference selection. She was a three-year starter for the Bulldogs in basketball and volleyball. “We are excited that Marie has decided to continue her basketball playing career at Dakota Wesleyan University,” Kahl said. “She is an athletic post player who has a chance to be a good player in our league. I think she will fit into our program very well.” Olson averages 11 points and nine rebounds per game, and is shooting 48 percent from the field in her senior season at Baltic. She was also a three-time Big East All-Conference and Tri-Valley All-Conference selection in volleyball. Marie is the daughter of Brian and Donna Olson from Garretson, S.D. She becomes the second player to sign with the Tigers in the 2008-09 recruiting class. The DWU women’s basketball team will finish out the regular season on Friday (Feb. 22) when it hosts the University of Sioux Falls at the Corn Palace. |
