DWU Football Announces Signees

MITCHELL, S.D. — Dakota Wesleyan University head football coach Brad Pole has announced the signing of 20 players who will compete for the DWU football program during the 2008 season.

The Class of 2008 includes three South Dakota All-State performers, one South Dakota All-State Honorable Mention, two “Elite 45” honorees, and one “Elite 45” Honorable Mention squad member. Twelve members of the recruiting class are from South Dakota; two are from Minnesota; and one is from Texas, California, Florida and Wyoming. This class also includes a transfer from Iowa and a transfer from California.

Coach Pole is entering his fourth year as the head football coach at DWU. The Tigers ended the 2007 season with a 4-6 record, including a three-game win streak for the first time since the 1997 season. Dakota Wesleyan defeated Hastings 34-32 on Oct. 27, Briar Cliff 37-14 on Nov. 3, and Midland Lutheran 27-20 on Nov. 10.
