Mar. 3, 2008 Baseball Goes 0-2 in Wichita WICHITA, KAN. — The Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team lost to No. 11 Bellevue University 3-2 and Avila University 5-2 on Saturday (Mar. 1). In the loss to Bellevue, Robert Stevens pitched the entire game and gave up three runs off six hits. The Tigers only managed to get three hits against the Bruins’ pitchers. Josh Pritt, Sean Heary and Kyle Isaacson each had a hit for Wesleyan. Against Avila, Isaacson went 1-3 at the plate, including a home run and two RBIs, and Zach Huston had two hits in three at bats. Freddy Janssen allowed five hits and four earned runs in four and two-thirds innings on the mound. The Tigers fall to 1-4 overall and will spend spring break in Oklahoma playing five games this week. The game against Oklahoma Baptist University scheduled for today has been rained out. The Tigers hope to play games this week against Oklahoma Christian University, Oklahoma City University and Southern Nazarene University. |
