Mar. 9, 2008 Errors Hurt Tigers in 13-5 Loss OKLAHOMA CITY — The Dakota Wesleyan University baseball team had nine errors in a 13-5 loss to No. 6 Oklahoma City University on Wednesday (March 5). Robert Stevens pitched two and two-thirds innings and gave up nine runs off seven hits. The Tigers had nine hits and struck out 11 times. First baseman Sean Heary led the Tiger bats going 2-4, and pinch-hitter Scott Schmidt had one hit in one at-bat with two RBIs. Oklahoma City had 10 hits off the Tigers’ pitching crew. Corey Marek pitched two and one-third innings and gave up only one hit and struck out one. Phil Johnson also pitched two innings for the Tigers and gave up three runs off one hit and struck out two. The Tigers fall to 1-5 overall and are scheduled to play at Briar Cliff University on Tuesday, March 12 in Sioux City, Iowa. DWU will play Dickinson State University and Minot State University on March 15-16 in Rapid City, S.D. |
