Mar. 13, 2008 Tiger Men Golfers Finish Fifth at Bethany College Invite SALINE, KAN. — The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s golf team shot a two-day total of 612 to place fifth of 19 at the Bethany College Invite on Monday and Tuesday (March 10-11) at Salina Elks Country Club and Turkey Creek Golf Club. DWU was in sixth place after day one and improved its team score by eight strokes to move up to fifth place for the tournament. Bethany College won the team title with a team score of 588. Kevin Walters from Bethany was the individual medalist with a score of 141. Nick Gates led DWU by shooting a 149 to tie for ninth place. Freshman Chris Pritchard was next for the Tigers, shooting a 151 to tie for 15th place. Tom Hoek was five strokes back with a 156. Tyler Evenson finished with a 158, and Brett Abbotts shot 159 to complete the DWU lineup. The Tigers are back in action on March 24-25 when they participate in the Oklahoma Christian University Classic.
