Gates Named GPAC Men’s Golf Player-of-the-Week

SIOUX CITY, IOWA. – Dakota Wesleyan University sophomore Nick Gates was named the Hauff Mid-America Sports/GPAC Men’s Golf Player-of-the-Week for March 10-16.

Gates, a Mitchell native, shot a two-day total of 149 at the Bethany College Invite in Lindsborg, Kan. On day one, he shot a 77 at the Saline Elks Country Club, while on day two he shot a 72 at the Turkey Creek Golf Club. Gates tied for ninth out of 97 participants in the two-day meet. Midland Lutheran College and Hastings College also played in the Bethany College Invite, and Gates was the top GPAC performer.

The DWU men’s golf team is on the road participating in the Oklahoma Christian University Classic on March 24-25 in Oklahoma City.
