DWU Men’s Golf Team Takes First Place

BEATRICE, NEB. — The Dakota Wesleyan University men’s golf team won the Southeast Community College Invite with a team score of 607 on Thursday (March 27) and Friday (March 28).

Tom Hoek led the Tigers winning individual medalist honors with a two-day total of 149 (76-73). Chris Pritchard and Brett Abbotts finished the event tied for fourth place with a 153 (78-75), and Nick Gates ended the two-day event with a 158 (75-83) for eighth place. Tyler Evenson finished out the Tiger roster finishing in ninth place with an 84-77 for a two-day total of 161.

The Tigers were in first place after round one with a team total of 307 and were able to hold that position and better their team score by seven strokes.

The Tigers will stay on the road and compete on March 29-30 in the Bethel College Invite in Newton, Kan.
