Hoek is Top Finisher for DWU Men’s Golf

NEWTON, KAN. — Senior Tom Hoek was the top finisher for the Dakota Wesleyan University men’s golf team at the Bethany College Spring Invite on Saturday (March 29) and Sunday (March 30).

Hoek, a De Smet, S.D., native, had rounds of 70-73 (143) to finish tied in fifth place individually. Chris Pritchard had a two-day total of 154 (75-79); Brett Abbotts finished with 79-77 (156); Nick Gates was next for the Tigers with a 158 (75-83); and Tyler Evenson finished out the Tiger roster with a 76-89 (165).

The Tigers finished seventh as a team with a two-day total of 608 (296-312). There were 18 teams that participated in the tournament, including some nationally ranked teams and NCAA Division II teams.

The Tigers will hit the road again and compete on April 6-7 in the Grandview College Invite in Fort Dodge, Iowa.
