GPAC Baseball Tournament Ends Day Two Early in Hastings

SIOUX CITY, IOWA - Three games were played on day two at the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) 2008 Baseball Tournament in Hastings, Nebraska. The final two games of the day have been moved to Saturday because of cold weather and rain.

On day two Morningside improved to 3-0 in the tournament with a 17-6 ten run rule (8 innings) win over Dakota Wesleyan. Top seed Northwestern was eliminated by seventh seed Sioux Falls 7-6. Briar Cliff eliminated Hastings 7-4 in the 12:30 PM game.

On Saturday in a 9:00 AM elimination game Dakota Wesleyan will play Briar Cliff. Sioux Falls will play Morningside in an 11:30 AM game.

Two teams were eliminated on Thursday as Midland Lutheran and Nebraska Wesleyan went 0-2 on the day. Morningside and Dakota Wesleyan are the two undefeated teams at 2-0. Northwestern, Hastings, Briar Cliff, and Sioux Falls went 1-1.

The tournament is being played at Duncan Field and Smith Complex.
