Nov. 22, 2009 Madut ends DWU cross country career at nationals
MITCHELL, S.D. – Dakota Wesleyan University senior Thomas Madut wrote the final chapter to his stellar cross country career as a Tiger Saturday with his second-straight appearance in the NAIA Cross Country National Championships. 2009 NAIA Cross Country Results Madut finished 166th out of 323 runners. He completed the 8K race in 27:03. Saturday, Madut became just the fourth runner in school history to compete at the national meet more than once in a career. Silas Kisorio, a sophomore from Oklahoma Christian, won the men’s individual title with a time of 24:23. Malone (Ohio) won its third-consecutive men’s team national championship with a team score of 44. DWU’s GPAC rival, Concordia University (Neb.), finished as the runner-up with 122 points. Though Madut’s cross country career ended, he will attempt to add a few more accolades to his already-impressive career this winter and spring when he competes for the men’s track and field team. |
