The Christen Family Recreation/Wellness Center Athletic Training Room serves as the primary treatment and rehabilitative facility for sports medicine services at DWU. The DWU Athletic Training Room in the wellness center is well equipped for treating and rehabilitating nearly all injuries that can result from athletic participation.

Available treatment modalities include everything from heat, cryotherapy, ultrasound and electrical stimulation, to extensive rehab devices for upper and lower extremity injuries. This location also houses the offices of the head athletic trainer, program director and clinical education coordinator.

Attached to the athletic training room is an additional rehabilitative area/classroom that is used in athletic training rehabilitation and serves as the main classroom for the athletic training education program.

The athletic training department also uses a variety of cardio-respiratory and weight training facilities available in the Christen Family Recreation/Wellness Center for rehabilitative services.

The Corn Palace athletic training room serves as an off-campus satellite athletic training room for the men’s and women’s basketball teams as well as special events. It is equipped with treatment modalities and preventative equipment and is located in the rear of the Corn Palace in downtown Mitchell.
