Dakota Wesleyan University’s M.B.A. becomes Educational Member of IACBE
Wednesday, September 4, 2013
The Master of Business Administration – Strategic Leadership program at Dakota Wesleyan University is now an Educational Member of the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE), and has affirmed its commitment to excellence in business education.
This is an additional accreditation standard for both the undergraduate and graduate programs, said Dr. Monty Bohrer, associate professor of business administration and economics at DWU.
“DWU’s business program is growing, with the addition of our M.B.A., and we’re excited to see it recognized as a program of excellence,” Bohrer said.
Accreditation by IACB is a voluntary independent appraisal of an institution’s educational programs, according to the organization’s website, “Accredited schools have demonstrated a commitment to continuous improvement, excellence in business education, and advancing academic quality.”
DWU’s business department has been growing over the past several years as it prepared to roll out its M.B.A.- Strategic Leadership degree this fall, which is an online course designed for working adults and full-time students and can be completed on either a 12- or 24-month basis with entry points in August or January of each year.
DWU’s M.B.A. program is designed to serve the region in small and medium-sized business. It is not designed to feed people into Fortune 500 companies, but to serve as a significant alternative, preparing individuals to be successful in the smaller, non-publicly traded businesses present in our region.
DWU has been accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association continuously since 1916.
DWU is a private, liberal arts university associated with the Dakotas Conference of the United Methodist Church. For more information about Dakota Wesleyan University, go to www.dwu.edu.
