Dave Mitchell joined the Wesleyan faculty in 1972 and is one of the longest serving professors at the university. He has been married to his wife, Ann, for 42 years and they are the parents to two grown daughters. The couple also has a granddaughter and a grandson. Ann taught part-time in the DWU education department from 1973 until 2002. Dr. Mitchell is involved in a variety of community activities, including politics, the United Methodist Church and fund raising for several groups. He has also donated more than 90 pints of blood. Before beginning his academic career, he was a system analyst for Procter and Gamble. Something few people know about him is that he once hit seven of 10 three-pointers in a basketball shooting contest at the Corn Palace.

Jerry Luckett joined the Wesleyan faculty in 1990. She is the mom to four grown children: Teri and Tricia, both sophomores at DWU, and Travis and Trevor, both graduates of DWU. She is very involved with the Corn Palace Stampede Rodeo committee and served as a 4-H leader for 18 years. Before coming to DWU, she lived on a farm, ran a daycare and attended Mitchell Technical Institute. She also serves as the Phi Beta Lambda local and state adviser, and is a former Rodeo Queen. Something few people know about Jerry is that she was named after her uncle who died in an accident a month before her birth and that she is a wish-granter for the Make A Wish Foundation.
