General Program Outcomes
The final measure of the value of a major in any program is what a graduate knows about and is able to do with the concepts and skills studied in various courses. While each program in the business department emphasizes a particular aspect of the field of business, all graduates are expected to be able to demonstrate competency in nine core areas:

  1. A capacity to communicate effectively in writing
  2. A capacity to effectively communicate orally
  3. An ability to work effectively in groups
  4. A level of self-confidence which enables the graduate to provide effective leadership
  5. The ability to apply quantitative and financial concepts and skills to the analysis and solution of organizational problems
  6. The ability to understand and apply key concepts and skills relating to supervisory, organizational and strategic management
  7. The ability to understand and apply key concepts and skills relating to marketing
  8. The ability to understand and apply key concepts and skills relating to operations and information management
  9. The ability to understand and apply key concepts relating to analysis of the economic, ethical, legal, and social environment in which an organization exists
