Freshman Student Move-In .   If you’re going to move into a dorm, now is the time to do it!   Moving crews will be in the Dayton loop from 8-10 a.m. ready to carry in everything you’ve worked for a week to pack.   Just pull up to the front door and we’ll do the rest.   Report to the Dayton Hall loop for your key. If you come after that time, please call the residence life hotline at (605) 770-1593 and we will meet you in Dayton Hall to give you your key.

8 a.m. to noon

Transfer Student Move-In.   Report to Allen Hall to check into your room.   If you come after that time, please call the residence life hotline at (605) 770-1593 and we will meet you in Allen Hall to give you your key.

8 a.m. to noon

Finalization.   All students must complete finalization in the Rollins Campus Center prior to the beginning of classes.   We will have your student ID, ask you to confirm your contact information, your medical requirements and your classes, and wrap up your financial arrangements with the university.   Also be sure to fill out your vehicle registration if you bring a car (have your vehicle’s license plate number ready).

8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Settle In To Your Room.   While nothing will ever be the same as home, your dorm will be more comfortable if you settle in and make your space your own.   Who knows – you might even find you like spending time in your room!

1 p.m.

Welcome Session for ALL New Students and Families.   Even if you’re a fall sport athlete and you’ve been on campus for a while, you’ll need to be here.   Families, whether you came to a registration day or not, you’re invited to come to this session, too.   Meet the student life staff, meet our president and our campus leadership, and hear about everything that’s going on this fall to celebrate our 125th anniversary.   You’re a member of the 125th incoming class – how exciting!  President’s Council will serve ice cream to commemorate the event.

5 p.m.

Picnic on the Plaza.   Enjoy your first meal on campus by gathering on Jackson Plaza for a picnic.   You’ll find a complimentary meal pass for two guests in your orientation packet.   Additional guests are welcome to purchase the meal for $5.

6 p.m.

Parents Depart.   It’s time!

6 to 8 p.m.

Bowling.   Gather with your NSO group and carpool to the Village Bowl for free bowling.   If you’re wearing flip flops now, remember to bring socks for those always-stylish bowling shoes.
